Lets Teach our children to fail…

I am surprised by the way the society is moving especially the education system and our young tender years in school.Why do one has to be rewarded only for passing or not to fail ? Why is passing so important for ones well being because with that he does not learn much while one fails he learns a lot. Why are kids who experiment and hence commit mistakes  abhored as wrong when what they are doing is at least trying .

The same pattern emerges when we grow up into young adults where being sucessful becomes so obessesive that people go to any length to be so called  succesful , what i am saying is it’s not bad to be desiring for sucess but the way it’s played out is not ok . We as a society has laid a wrong precident in the young minds trying to so impinging our values and belief systems on them and how to fail is bad and sucess is the only way to Learn .

Every Kid in this world has a moral right to fail because that’s the only way we Humans learn if you stop that i think it’s an impediment to ones learning process and ultimately shows about the society and times we are living in , where in the name of competition Students are under tremendous pressure and loose the whole point of Learning.

So learning to fail and learning from failing should be our motto… think

 

Whats on your Mind ?

Ok i decided to change title of my blog from “Free and  Open Source ” to  ”whats on your mind” yes the first one was good focussed one  on  one topic but i felt and  that what i do is more than just FOSS.  This gives me the freedom to write here instead of places like Facebook  or Twitter or Identi.ca . Ok whats on the plate to start with the new title “whats on your mind ” yes you got it right its been flicked from Facebook , thanks to there policy changes they were  in News for past few  weeks  , actually i really like it  so does so many of millions of  Facebook Fans .

i started digging and try to find out the social maps which exists and the  connections i can see , obviously FB was the tool of choice to begin with i hit upon my first search with Nexus which has shut down ;-( , but it gave me enough apps using which i can do pretty much what i wanted here are the list of applications on Facebook which mapped social connections not only they did that they were digging more into the connections.

i am sure there are more ways to dig in with the Graph API .

For all those people who are afraid after seeing the web of connections and having privacy concern there is no straighforward way to deactivate your Facebook account , deactivating actually does not help you in deleting all the data , to actually wipe all the info you need to go to this link Delete Facebook account

for all the other folks who do not want to delete the account here is a scanner to test your reclaimprivacy privacy setting on Facebook.

After attending the #WCI met and heard many pro bloggers and developers from the field of blogging , the guy who really was impressive was OM of gigaom fame. He was too good after listening to him and learning from his kind words i have decided to change the line on my Blog from Change is certain what is your Foss Startegy!! to Change is Certain what about You!! sounds easy and makes it more personal .

Yes my take on the event #WCI is , it met my expectations and i was more than happy to meet new faces and understand there issues  with respect to development,legal and start up point of view. Hope to be more active and try to contribute to it in future!!

Right now got to get back to setting my Page and playing with plethora of plugins WP has to offer, i am a newbie to the blogging world do write about the mistakes i am doing while writing or otherwise ….
